Suren has a broad skill base, having worked as a teacher, a school principal, an export proprietor, a documentary film maker and the director of a graphic design company. Before coming to Dragons, Suren spent four years as a program coordinator and trek leader for Sojourn Nepal. Additionally, he worked as a language and cultural interpreter for an immunization project with UNICEF.

Currently, Suren is the incumbent vice-president of the Nepal Council for the Preservation of Buddhist Religion, which is working on the world’s largest thankga involved more than 12 thousand people and more than 10 nations. He recently organized the Peace Ride 2003 for Himalayan Enfielders and is has been working as a media and management consultant for Project Moving Mountain, a documentary group that is filming the first ever ascent of the peak Pharilapcha. Suren speaks Nepali, English, Hindi, Bengali and some Japanese and plays the guitar, harmonica and a Nepali drum called the mandal.
