Kristen has been working with Where There Be Dragons since 2016. Over the years, she has facilitated international experiential education programs across Morocco, China, India, Peru, Vietnam, and the United States. She has also taught in schools, working as a Global Studies program coordinator and teacher in Seattle, as well as a social justice educator in Chicago. With her students, she successfully changed the name from Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day in Chicago schools, published a book on menstruation experiences across cultures, and implemented various art and community building programs across the U.S. Kristen has also worked as a journalist, curated art, worked with refugee resettlement organizations, and supported research projects around the world. She is a documentary photographer and enjoys creating pressed flower art in her free time.
