Paola Flores

Bolivia and Peru Instructor

B.M. Psychology, University of Sucre, Bolivia

Paola was born in Potosí, Bolivia—one of the highest cities in the world—but grew up in Sucre. Her roots remain deeply tied to the land, shaped by stories of her mother’s family who lived self-sufficiently in the countryside around Potosí. Since childhood, she has found comfort and awe in nature’s immensity.

Moved by a deep curiosity about human behavior and a desire to understand and honor each person’s uniqueness, Paola studied Psychology at the University of Sucre. She conducted research on reading habits in rural communities with BiblioWorks, after that Paola worked with a multidisciplinary team supporting women and children survivors of violence—an experience that sparked her commitment to intersectional feminism.

After these experiences, in 2015, Paola decided to step out of her comfort zone and explore new paths. She spent nearly two years traveling across South America, volunteering through Workaway and WWOOF. Then, she also traveled and volunteered in Europe—experiences that broadened her perspective and reaffirmed how deeply she values the warmth, diversity, and collective spirit of South America.

Paola currently works with Dragons as an experiential educator in Bolivia, Peru, Guatemala, and Mexico. She finds deep joy in sharing the complexity and beauty of these regions—especially its stories of resistance, solidarity, and connection to the land. She also loves baking, believes food is a love language, and is absolutely obsessed with cats.
