He spent his childhood surrounded by an incredible landscape, impressive 16th century ruins and the mysterious folk tales that his mother and grandmother told him; these elements made a great impact on his personality and on his way of thinking about his culture, as Yim is also a prolific author, composer, a singer and cultural promotor.
He was awarded the prestigious UWC scholarship to attend the United World College of the American West in Las Vegas, New Mexico where he completed a IB Diploma Program; after this 2-year program he attended Earlham College, in Richmond, Indiana where he studied Neuroscience and participated in different research projects, from working with lampreys to study how nerve repair to the use of ultrasound as a possible cancer detection tool. Yim also enjoys traveling, especially if that involves learning. During his years at Earlham he attended different internships abroad and that oriented his career towards research. During the last six years he worked at the University of Buenos Aires, making important observations on the field of brain science; he is about to publish his first scientific paper.
He is extremely enthusiastic with science communication and is also really excited and committed to protect, preserve and share his hometown cultural traditions.
