Are you considering a Gap Year program? Study abroad and Gap Year Programs expose students to a new way of learning and living. Taking place in some of the world’s most beautiful and culturally diverse locations, our study programs grant insight into the way people live, work, commute, and function on a daily basis. During our time abroad, we’re not tourists, we travel responsibly and with intention for a fully immersive experience.

Students are ingrained in a new language and culture while studying integral political, social, and environmental issues, and beyond. Gap Year Programs are intended to allow students to live without their creature comforts, disconnect from digital distractions, and understand new ways of living. Programs are composed of our core components, each focusing on specific aspects like language study, trekking, learning service, spiritual traditions, and more.

Should I take a Gap Year?

Signing up for a Gap Year program is an exciting step to take, but there are quite a few considerations before taking the leap. Whether you’re currently enrolled in college or considering a Gap Year between high school and your freshman college year, a Gap Year program is an extraordinary and eye-opening experience for many.

One of the first things to ask yourself is what you’re hoping to get out of a Gap Year program. Gap Year Programs require a significant time and financial commitment so it’s important to be clear with your intentions and ambitions. Gap Year Programs can look great on a resume and provide you with hands-on experience to translate to the workforce. These types of travel programs offer opportunities for personal development, skill building, and leadership experience. And beyond the benefits that you can write on paper, Gap Year Programs unlock opportunities you may have never realized you needed.

You’ll also need to consider what you’ll be sacrificing in exchange for the opportunity to participate in a Gap Year program. The idea of stepping out of your comfort zone to leave the country for a Gap Year can be intimidating, but the reward can greatly outweigh the sacrifice. It’s hard to truly understand what you can get out of a study abroad experience without fully being in it. Students who may not have a lot of experience traveling or have never been out of the country may feel a bit of homesickness at first, but these feelings tend to fade with time and experiences in the program.
