Anu Shrestha

Masters in TVET, Kathmandu University
Anu is an educator from Nepal with a deep passion for experiential learning, sustainability, and mobility. Through her initiative, Sikaru Learning Expeditions, she collaborates with Habeli Outdoor Learning Center to develop outdoor learning programs that integrate environmental education with formal curricula, fostering deeper connections between students and their surroundings.
Her journey in education began at Karkhana, where she explored progressive educational pedagogies. This exploration led her to take on diverse educational roles, from designing innovative learning experiences to working closely with educators and students. Beyond the classroom, Anu has contributed to national and international education programs, leading design-thinking workshops, facilitating teacher training, and supporting curriculum development.
Anu is also an active board member of Cycle City Network Nepal (CCNN), an NGO that promotes bicycles as a sustainable mode of urban mobility. She leads initiatives such as the Bike to School program and Women’s Bicycle Training, while also organizing large-scale events like the KORA Cycling Challenge—one of Nepal’s largest cycling festivals.
As an instructor with ‘Where There Be Dragons,’ Anu looks forward to sharing her experiences and learning from students across borders. She sees this opportunity as a way to exchange knowledge, inspire young learners, and explore the intersections of education, environment, and sustainability.
