Charlie Marks
Charlie holds a B.A. in Adventure Education from Prescott College and has truly immersed himself in the world of experiential learning and cross-cultural connections. Growing up in Chicago, he was eager to explore the great outdoors, and once slept in a sleeping bag for the first time at 18, it was just the beginning of a thrilling journey. His adventurous spirit led him on an incredible gap year, where he bikepacked through Ecuador, visited Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas, and wandered the vibrant streets of Porto, Portugal.
After a short time in the Pacific Northwest, Charlie moved to Utah to volunteer with Americorps, where he learned about invasive species removal and fire fuel reduction in the Southwest’s river corridors. He fell head over heels for the Southwest and decided to deepen his outdoor education at Prescott College. Most of his time was spent on the rivers, where he discovered that traveling with the water was the perfect way to fully embrace life.
Passionate about blending experiential learning with cultural connections, Charlie took on roles with Overland and the Northwest Outward Bound School, leading trips along both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. He was particularly excited to connect with his heritage and cultivate outdoor experiential education in Greece. There, he worked as a river guide on the beautiful Voidomatis River and guided for the American Farm School in Thessaloniki. In his downtime, you can find Charlie climbing, running, or strumming his guitar, always seeking the next adventure!
