Henry Van Damme

Bridge Year & Tufts Program Director
BA in Anthropology, College of the Holy Cross

MSc in Cultural Anthropology, Utrecht University

Henry was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, is one of five brothers, and hates being asked the question “where are you from?” Growing up with parents who worked with the Peace Corps and the European Union meant moving from one hemisphere to another frequently and has left him with a curiosity to always understand those around him. This curiosity sparked his interest in Anthropology, brought him to join the Peace Corps in Burkina Faso where he served as a Community Economic Development Volunteer for two and a half years, and ultimately brought him to Dragons.

Henry moved back to Bolivia in 2019 to work with Dragons and has since led programs in Bolivia, Peru, and Senegal. He enjoys exploring the Andes on long backpacking trips, working as a Carpenter for a few months out of the year in Maine, and a nice conversation over a cup of coffee.
