Minu Chae
LNT – Master Educator Instructor; Wilderness First Responder
Minu (he/him) is Korean, Canadian, and American. Minu was born in L.A. to Korean immigrant parents and grew up in both Canada and the United States.
Stopping his pursuit of a business degree in 2014, Minu has spent the years since working and traveling, seeking distinct experiences in pursuance of understanding himself and his place in the world. This journey has brought him to places such as Koreatown in Los Angeles, Edmonton, eastern Europe, Atlanta, south Georgia, Hamilton, and Wyoming as well as led him to a variety of roles including wilderness fire and ecological management, trail maintenance, personal caregiving, fashion sales, food service, construction, event management, and outdoor education. From his travels, Minu has come to learn that any experience, combined with reflection, can profoundly transform and broaden one’s beliefs and perspectives.
A passionate mental health advocate, educator, and perpetual student, Minu hopes to inspire others to be kind to their fellow humans, and most importantly, to be kind to themselves. At Dragons, he is excited to help build positive communities, bring focus to JEDI work, and illuminate the importance of self awareness and understanding identity.
Minu’s current curiosities and pursuits are learning Korean, chess, photography, music production, intersectionality, indigenous history, climbing, van dwelling, becoming a morning person, and being an uncle!
