Mony Pech

Mony is from Battambang, Cambodia. Born in 1989, he grew up in a rural community where education was not highly valued, and many children did not attend school. Despite these challenges, he was determined to continue his education and prove its importance for the future of young people. To achieve his dream, he left his community and lived in a monastery in Battambang city for several years until he completed high school in 2008.
In 2009, Mony received a scholarship from the Buddhist University of Battambang to pursue a bachelor’s degree. He graduated in 2013 with a degree in Khmer literature. After completing his studies, he worked for a social enterprise tour operator in Battambang as a training program leader, helping university students develop essential soft skills to bridge the gap between education and employment.
With many years of experience in tourism, Mony has been involved in development and sustainability efforts in Cambodia. Passionate about history and Buddhism, he enjoys sharing Cambodia’s rich heritage and culture with others. He is dedicated to helping people gain knowledge and understanding through experiential learning.
Mony loves his job because it allows him to represent Cambodia and help travelers gain a deeper understanding of the country’s culture, history, local life, and stories.
