Pu Chun "J" Cheng

Taiwan Instructor

J discovered her passion for cultural exploration and human connection early on. With a degree in Arabic and Literature, she embarked on a journey across continents and diverse communities.

J ‘s humanitarian work began with a three-month volunteer stint as the Kitchen Manager at House of All, a refugee shelter in Bosnia, in collaboration with the UNHCR. This experience fueled her desire to support people from all walks of life. She then embarked on a solo adventure, spending $2,800 to travel for 541 days across 22 countries. Along the way, she hitchhiked for over 51 hours, sharing stories with more than 50 drivers, and covering over 5,000 km from Istanbul to Berlin.

Currently, J channels her experiences into improvisation as a member of the Formosa Improv Group based in Taipei. Her monthly shows reflect her belief in the power of storytelling and human connection. Offstage, she continues to seek growth and new ways to engage with the world.

In her free time, J immerses herself in local culture, experiments with recipes inspired by her travels, and explores the vibrant streets of Taipei. Her journey showcases her unwavering curiosity and dedication to finding meaning in every encounter.
