Tsering Choden
Masters in Public Health (MPH), specialization in Health Promotion – Waterloo University
B.A Health Studies, Minor in Eastern Religious Studies- McMaster University
A self-proclaimed global citizen, Tsering’s motto in life is to “Inspire and be Inspired.” A product of cross cultural and experiential learning herself, she credits the solo adventure she took returning to Nepal in 2010 for changing her life and putting her on a course to self-discovery and success.
A public health practitioner by profession, Tsering specializes in health promotion, specifically in training and education of health programs. She has worked extensively in Nepal on various public health programs and projects with leading organizations including USAID’s ASHA and Saath-Saath project, UKAID/DFID-funded RAP 3 project, and safety programs at Kopila Valley school with BlinkNow. Tsering’s work has taken her to some of the most remote and resource-limited places in Nepal. She has also held senior position working as the Deputy Country Director for the UK-based company, Safetyknot Nepal.
Tsering was born in Nepal. Currently, she spends most of her time between Nepal and Canada. Tsering is fluent in Tibetan, Hindi, Nepali, and English and understands enough Urdu and Punjabi to sit through 2.5 hour long movies and understand and enjoy them – without subtitles! Currently, she is brushing up on her Dzongkha.
While Tsering is very proud of her professional achievements, her proudest moments are always when she is able to inspire others through her stories, and experience and help them through their individual journeys. As a Dragons instructor, she hopes to inspire and in the process be inspired herself.
