Yasmina Ahl Maris

Morocco Instructor

Pursuing studies at the English Department, Diploma in Graphic Design

Born and raised in Marrakesh, also known as the Red City, one of the oldest cities in Morocco, Yasmina grew up wandering its vibrant souks, magical alleyways, and crowded squares. She has always been fascinated by the stories told by travelers who passed through Marrakesh. Yasmina dreamed of creating her own story, one she could authentically and deeply tell, but she was uncertain about the type of stories she wanted to share. Her clarity emerged when she delved into the world of bikepacking, igniting her passion for adventure and self-discovery.

With her city bike, Yasmina pedaled through Morocco’s rugged terrain, embracing challenges and pushing herself out of her comfort zone. After a year of cycling, grappling, and navigating the roads ahead, Yasmina realized that bikepacking had evolved beyond a hobby or sport; it had become a way of life—a way to embody freedom, deep connection, and meaningful experiences. Now, Yasmina knows the story she wants to tell: her journey crossing the world on two wheels.

Having grown up in the city of craftsmen, masters, and apprentices, and with a background in fine arts and graphic design, Yasmina mastered various crafts, including bookbinding, crochet, and embroidery. Creating things from scratch with her bare hands allows her to establish a profound connection with herself that transcends the surface. In her free time, you’ll find Yasmina either wearing the hat of a writer, crafting stories and journaling, or wearing the hat of a photographer and videographer, editing footage from her adventurous trips.
