We are excited that you’re interested in joining us! Use these guidelines to apply for a Summer Travel Abroad, or Gap Year program. It’s easy to get started, and we are here to help with any questions that come up along the way.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Step 1: Enroll

    Take a few minutes to fill out your online application. Don’t worry about your answers being perfect – we just want to know more about you and hear about your interests. Go to the Summer, or Gap Application.

  • Step 3: interview

    Once you’ve completed steps one and two, we’ll send an email inviting you to schedule a phone interview with a member of our Admissions team. You don’t need to prepare in advance, but please bring contact information for your mental health care provider if you’ve seen one in the last two years. Please also be sure you can take the call in a safe, quiet location. We want to learn why you’re excited about Dragons and also ensure that the program is a good fit. For more information about what constitutes the “right fit” for a Dragons program, please see our Essential Eligibility Criteria (EEC).

Submit a Deposit

Next Steps

After your interview, our admissions team may follow up with you or your therapist or request an additional reference, if we feel additional information is needed. Once we have everything we need, our team will make a prompt decision on your acceptance and notify you via email. Once admitted to a program, we’ll support you with all of the pre-departure logistics and planning.

Application Deadline

Spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. While there is no fixed application deadline, we often receive more applications than we are able to accept and recommend applying well in advance to get a spot on your first-choice program. When a program is full, students must be moving actively through the admissions process to maintain their space on the roster.
