How to Enroll

We are excited that you’re interested in joining us! Use these guidelines to apply for a Summer Travel Abroad, or Gap Year program. It’s easy to get started, and we are here to help with any questions that come up along the way.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Step 1: Enroll

    Take a few minutes to fill out your online application. Don’t worry about your answers being perfect – we just want to know more about you and hear about your interests. Go to the Summer or Gap Application.

Summer, or Gap Application

  • Step 2: Submit a Deposit or financial assistance application

    Submit an $850 deposit to hold your spot via the Online Payment Page. For complete details on our Deposit Policy, please review the Terms & Conditions.

    • If you plan to apply for Sliding Scale Pricing, you must submit your Financial Assistance Application and receive a decision before submitting a deposit. Scholarship applicants should not submit a deposit. Learn more about financial assistance here.

  • Step 3: interview

    Once you’ve completed steps one and two, we’ll send an email inviting you to complete a one-way video interview. In the interview, you will introduce yourself and answer a few questions mostly centered around your goals, intentions, and enthusiasm for joining our program. You do not need to prepare in advance – there are no “right” or “wrong” answers to the questions, and the most important thing is for us to get a sense of who you are and why you’re excited about Dragons.

Next Steps

After your interview, our admissions team may reach out to you, your therapist, or an additional reference if we feel more information is needed to reach an admissions decision. For more on what we’re looking for, please see our Essential Eligibility Criteria (EEC). Once we have everything we need, our team will make a decision on your acceptance and notify you via email. Once admitted to a program, we’ll support you with all of the pre-departure logistics and planning!

Application Deadline

Spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. While there is no fixed application deadline, we often receive more applications than we are able to accept and recommend applying well in advance to get a spot on your first-choice program. When a program is full, students must be moving actively through the admissions process to maintain their space on the roster.
